Suspect uses flamethrower to light Pan-African flag on fire

St. Petersburg, FL - Police are investigating after a man used a flamethrower to set fire to a Pan-African flag flying outside of the headquarters of a Black international socialist group.

According to St. Petersburg Police, the unidentified man was filmed via security camera setting fire to the flag outside of the Uhuru Movement's headquarters on Saturday.

Security video released by the group shows the driver of a white sedan pulling up to the group’s headquarters, pulling a flame thrower from the trunk, and shooting fire at the flag that was flying 30 feet above the ground.

The person was then filmed putting the flamethrower back in the trunk and driving away. 

Police are investigating.
