Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood issued a joint statement on Friday announcing the cancellation of their annual Halloween Horror Nights event this Fall due to Coronavirus concerns.

All year, even in light of the covid pandemic, Universal's social accounts had continued to tease this year's event, which would have seen it's 30th anniversary at the Orlando park.

Universal Orlando had also already begun to sell tickets for the event, including a special Buy-One-Night-Get-Two-Nights promotion for Annual Passholders. When reached by telephone, representatives confirmed that tickets for this year's event including the special offer would still be valid for next year's event.

Universal Orlando continues daily park operation outside of this special event and plans to continue following their health & safety guidelines to operate during this pandemic.

The full statement from the parks is below.
