The Tampa Bay Lightning (44-21-5) defeated the Minnesota Wild (40-20-12) 6-3 on Tuesday night in Tampa. With the win, the Lightning are now 4-0-1 in their last five games.
The Wild scored twice in the first period to take a 2-0 lead. Brayden Point got the scoring started on the power pay in the second period to pull within 2-1. After Minnesota made it 3-1, the Lightning got goals from Jake Guentzel and Darren Raddysh to tie the game 3-3 going into the third period.
Erik Cernak came through with what would prove to be the game-winning goal late in the third period, before Brandon Hagel and Pontus Holmberg both added empty netters. Andrei Vasilevskiy went 20-of-23 in net for Tampa Bay to get the win.
The Lightning are next in action when they host the Seattle Kraken on Thursday night. Puck drop between the Lightning and Kraken is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Thursday at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa.
