Rays Fall To Yankees In Extras

The New York Yankees (59-49) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (54-55) 5-4 in eleven innings on Wednesday night in the Bronx. With the loss, the Rays are now below .500 on the season, and announced after the game they had traded starting pitcher Zack Littell to the Reds.

The Rays blew leads of 1-0, 3-2 and 4-3 before falling 5-4 in eleven innings. Ryan McMahon had the walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the eleventh inning that lifted New York to the win.

The Rays will now try to salvage a split in the four-game series with the Yankees, which concludes on Thursday afternoon. First pitch on Thursday is scheduled for 1:05 PM - pregame coverage begins with Inside Pitch at high noon on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
