Orioles Even Series With Rays

The Baltimore Orioles (31-41) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (40-33) 5-1 on Tuesday night at Steinbrenner Field. With the win, the Rays saw their winning streak snapped at four games.

Tied 1-1 going into the fifth inning, the Orioles got single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh to make it a 4-1 game. Then in the ninth Baltimore added another insurance run to make it a 5-1 final score.

Zack Littell (6-7, 3.88) took the loss for the Rays, allowing three earned runs on seven hits while striking out three and walking none in six innings of work. Dean Kremer (6-7, 4.80) allowed one earned run on four hits in five innings for Baltimore to get the win.

The Rays and Orioles now meet in the third game of a four-game series coming up on Wednesday night. First pitch Wednesday is scheduled for 7:35 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 6:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
