The Toronto Blue Jays (21-21) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (19-23) 3-1 on Wednesday night at Rogers Centre in Toronto to even the three-game series 1-1.
The Rays scored first, when Kameron Misner drove in a un in the fourth to make it 1-0. The Blue Jays answered in the bottom of the sixth with a three-run homer from Alejandro Kirk to take a 3-1 lead.
Ryan Pepiot (2-5, 3.33) allowed three earned runs in his six innings of work while striking out seven and walking one. Chris Bassitt allowed just one earned run in five and two-third innings for the Blue Jays, and the Rays were unable to get anything at all against the Blue Jays bullpen. Brendon Little (2-0, 1.86) picked up the win out of the bullpen, while Yimi Garcia earned his third save.
The Rays will once again try to win the series in Toronto when they meet in the series finale on Thursday afternoon. First pitch Thursday is scheduled for 3:07 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 2:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
