Kendrick Lamar and SZA give another stunning performance in the emotional visuals for their popular collaboration off Lamar's GNX album.
On Friday, April 11, the Grammy award-winning artists delivered the music video for "Luther." In the visuals directed by Karena Evans, Kendrick and SZA cuddle up with their love interests while paying homage to the late Luther Vandross and Cheryl Lynn. At the end of the video, Vandross and Lynn's cover of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell's "If This World Were Mine," which is sampled in the song, plays in the background while Kendrick holds his lady's hand and SZA dances with her man.
Kendrick Lamar and SZA performed "Luther" live for the first time during the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in New Orleans two months ago. They also performed their Grammy-nominated song "All The Stars." The duo plans to perform more of their other collaborations and other music from their respective new albums on their upcoming joint tour.
The surprise music video arrives just a week before Kendrick Lamar and SZA are scheduled to kick off their "Grand National Tour" in Minneapolis. The "30 For 30" duo will travel to stadiums in 19 major cities across the U.S. and Canada including Houston, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Philadelphia, and others over the next two months. They will wrap up the tour in Washington, D.C. on June 18.
