Young Thug has some thoughts about Lil Nas X's decision to reveal his sexuality.
While chatting with No Jumperâs Adam22, the "Goodbyes" rapper applauded Nas X for his bravery, but also said he didn't think he should have revealed that he's gay.
"I feel like he probably shouldnât have told the world, because these days, motherf**kers, itâs just all judgment," Thug, who's featured on the latest remix of Nas X's "Old Town Road," shared. "Motherf**kers just judging. It ainât even about the music no more. Once you found out he was gay, everybody⊠soon as the song comes on, everybody like, 'This gay a** ni**a.' Ni**as donât even care to listen to the song no more." Thug, however, did call Nas X's decision to come out a "G's move," and said the fact that he chose to come out during Pride month was "was most definitely the best time to do it."
Thug's praise of the rising rapper continued as he added that he loves how, like him, Nas X does his own thing. "He's just a young ni**a, chasing dreams. I know how people looked at [my music] when I first came. People like, 'Da*n, who this? This ni**a came outta nowhere.' Now I got 10 mixtapes, buzzing in my hometown," Thug said. "I don't judge [Lil] Pump, him, or nobody. I donât give a f**k what they rap about. They ainât got to make sense. They donât have to rap about their struggle. I just adore what they thinking."
As fans know, Nas X chose to publicly come out on Twitter the last day of Pride month. "Some of yâall already know, some of yâall donât care, some of yâall not gone fwm no more. but before this month ends i want yâall to listen closely to c7osure," he tweeted, adding a rainbow emoji. The song he mentioned, talks about his desire to stop "actin' and includes the line: "This is what I gotta do, can't be regretting when I'm old." In a follow-up tweet, Nas X highlighted the rainbow colors on the cover art of his EP as another clue about his sexuality. "Deada** thought i made it obvious," he wrote.
